Theory is a polyurethane upholstery fabric from Concertex, available through Baresque. It features a diamond embossed surface on a polyester backing, combining a subtle geometric texture with a high-performance, bleach-cleanable construction suited to contract seating in corporate, hospitality, and healthcare interiors.

Applications
Suited to contract seating, panel upholstery, and furniture in corporate, hospitality, and healthcare settings requiring a textured PVC-free fabric with anti-bacterial properties. Must be fixed by stapling only. Adhesives are not suitable, as they can seep into the padding and deform the surface.
Standards and compliance
Fire tested to AS 1530.3 with a Spread of Flame Index of 0 and a Smoke Developed Index of 5. Compliant with CAL 01351 low-VOC emissions standard, Healthier Hospitals Initiative, and free of PVC, phthalates, and DMF.
Frequently asked questions
Can Theory be fixed with adhesive?
No. Theory must be stapled only. Adhesives can seep into the padding and deform the surface permanently.
Is Theory sold by the lineal metre?
No. It is sold by the half roll (9.1 m) or full roll (18.2 m) only in a 132 cm width.
Is Theory suitable for healthcare settings?
Yes. Theory is anti-bacterial, Healthier Hospitals compliant, free of PVC, phthalates, and DMF, and bleach cleanable.
