Frequently asked questions
Which R-value should I specify to meet the Building Code of Australia requirements?
Many constructions require a Total R-Value of R3.2 or greater under the NCC. Fletcher Permastop is available in material R-values up to R3.2; the correctly installed total system R-value depends on installation configuration and should be verified against the applicable NCC energy efficiency provisions.
Does Permastop reduce rain noise on metal roofs?
Yes. The 75 mm product reduces rain noise by up to 18 dB(A) compared to a metal roof with no insulation, according to Fletcher Insulation's published acoustic performance data.
Is Permastop safe to handle on site?
Yes. The product uses FBS-1 Glasswool Bio-Soluble Insulation, which is classified as safe to use. The product is also non-combustible.
