Frequently asked questions
How does Polymax differ from glasswool ceiling batts?
Polymax is made from polyester fibre with 80% recycled content and no chemical binders, making it non-irritant and easier to handle without protective gear. Glasswool products such as Bradford Gold are non-combustible; Polymax is not classified non-combustible and is not suitable where that certification is required.
Can Polymax batts be cut to fit non-standard joist spacings?
Yes. Polyester batts can be torn or cut to accommodate irregular joist centres. Batts should fit snugly with no gaps, as even small air gaps reduce thermal performance.
Is Polymax suitable for homes with asthma or allergy sufferers?
Yes. The product is non-irritant, produces no VOC emissions, and contains no added chemical or resin binders, making it suited to low-allergen indoor environments.
