R3.0 Bradford Polymax Ceiling Insulation Batts are a polyester thermal ceiling batt from Bradford Insulation, made from recycled polyester fibre with no added chemical or resin binders. The product is soft to handle, non-irritant, and suited to residential ceiling applications where a low-allergen alternative to glasswool is preferred.

Applications

Also provides secondary acoustic benefit by reducing sound transmission through the ceiling. Complies with NCC 2022 Volume 1 J4D3(1) and ABCB Housing Provisions Standard 2022 13.2.2(1) for thermal performance. Tested to AS/NZS 4859.1. Fire hazard properties assessed to AS/NZS 1530.3. Note: this product is not classified as non-combustible to AS 1530.1 and is not suitable where non-combustible certification is required.

How does Polymax differ from glasswool ceiling batts?
Polymax is made from polyester fibre with 80% recycled content and no chemical binders, making it non-irritant and easier to handle without protective gear. Glasswool products such as Bradford Gold are non-combustible; Polymax is not classified non-combustible and is not suitable where that certification is required.
Can Polymax batts be cut to fit non-standard joist spacings?
Yes. Polyester batts can be torn or cut to accommodate irregular joist centres. Batts should fit snugly with no gaps, as even small air gaps reduce thermal performance.
