3 AMC
The 3 AMC is a heavy-duty spring vibration isolator from AMC Mecanocaucho, intended for large rotating and reciprocating machinery. It prevents vibration from being transmitted to adjacent building structures, reducing structure-borne noise and extending the service life of the supported equipment by limiting dynamic stress on its components.
Specifications
- Load capacity: 450 kg to 2,250 kg (six colour-coded spring variants)
- Thread size: M16 (450-1,050 kg variants), M20 (1,500-2,250 kg variants)
- Spring colours (load): Blue (450 kg), White (600 kg), Black (750 kg), Cream (1,050 kg), Light Grey (1,500 kg), Green (2,250 kg)
- Available configurations: Standard (no pad) and Sylomer-equipped variants
- Manufacturer: AMC Mecanocaucho (Vibrabsorber series)
Applications
Suited to large industrial plant including pumps, compressors, generators, fans, and processing machinery where reciprocating or rotating parts create significant imbalance forces. The 3 AMC is used where load requirements exceed the capacity of smaller spring mounts. The optional Sylomer pad version additionally isolates mid and high-frequency structure-borne vibration beyond the spring's primary isolation band.
Frequently asked questions
How is the correct 3 AMC variant selected?
The spring colour corresponds to the maximum rated load per mount, ranging from 450 kg (Blue) to 2,250 kg (Green). The correct variant is selected by dividing the equipment's total mass by the number of mounts and matching the result to the rated load of the chosen colour.
What is the difference between the standard 3 AMC and the Sylomer-equipped version?
The standard 3 AMC uses the steel spring alone, while the Sylomer-equipped version includes an elastomer pad that provides additional isolation of mid and high-frequency vibrations beyond what the spring achieves on its own.
Why is a spring mount needed for rotating machinery?
Rotating and reciprocating machinery produces vibration through imbalance in its moving parts. Without a spring mount, that vibration transmits to the supporting structure, causing noise in adjacent spaces and accelerated wear in the machine itself.
