Thermotec Maxflex Insulating Foam Tape
Thermotec Maxflex Insulating Foam Tape (MAXTAPE FR) is a fire-rated EPDM closed-cell foam tape from Thermotec, backed with an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. It retards heat loss, heat gain, and condensation on pipework and HVAC components, and is also used as a purlin tape on steel-framed buildings to reduce thermal movement noise.

Frequently asked questions
Can MAXTAPE FR be used as a purlin tape?
Yes. The product is specifically rated for use as a purlin tape on steel-framed buildings, reducing thermal movement noises between steel purlins and roof or wall cladding with no deterioration over time.
What is the cell structure of this tape?
MAXTAPE FR is closed cell, which gives it low, stable thermal conductivity and resistance to moisture absorption, supporting both thermal insulation and condensation protection.
Is this product fire rated?
Yes. MAXTAPE FR carries a fire-rated designation. Contact Thermotec for specific fire test documentation.
