Thermotec Open Cell Sealant Backing Rod is a medium-density polyurethane foam rod from Thermotec, used to control sealant depth and profile in construction joints. It supports proper sealant tooling in expansion joints, tilt slab construction, and horizontal and vertical wall joints before caulking.

Applications
Installed into joints before sealant application to control joint depth and promote the correct two-sided adhesion profile. Suitable for expansion joints, construction joints, tilt slab panel joints, and horizontal or vertical internal wall joints in commercial and residential construction.

Thermotec Open Cell Sealant Backing Rod is available in six diameters: 10 mm, 16 mm, 22 mm, 29 mm, 38 mm, and 50 mm, each supplied in roll lengths suited to that diameter.
How is the product packaged for bulk purchase?
Each diameter comes in individual roll lengths packaged in a plastic bag. Five master bags are compressed into a strapped bale, with total bale metreage ranging from 300 m (50 mm) to 5,250 m (10 mm).
