BETON
BETON is a 25x100 cm plank carpet tile from Carpets Inter inspired by the surface texture of freshly laid concrete. It uses solution-dyed nylon pile in subtle tonal variations over an EcoSoft or EcoSquare recycled cushion backing, providing an aesthetically neutral backdrop that coordinates with a broad range of interior finishes across six colourways.

Applications
Suited to commercial offices, co-working spaces, retail interiors, and hospitality environments where a concrete-inspired neutral provides a versatile design foundation. The multiple tonal shades allow selective placement of plain accent-colour tiles within the same floor, giving designers flexibility to zone areas or add visual punctuation without introducing a contrasting pattern.
Standards and compliance
Fire tested to ASTM E 648 (Class I radiant panel) and ASTM E 662 (smoke density below 450). Sound absorption measured to BS EN ISO 354, achieving NRC 0.30 or higher. Indoor air quality certified under CRI Green Label Plus. Eligible for NSF/ANSI 140 and Singapore Green Labelling Scheme (SGLS). Contributes to LEED and the WELL Building Standard. EPD verified to ISO 14025, EN 15804, and ISO 21930:2017.
Frequently asked questions
How is BETON designed to work with accent-colour tiles?
The six concrete-inspired colourways share a neutral tonal range from pale clay through dark strata, allowing individual tiles of any tone to be placed alongside solid accent-colour modules from the Carpets Inter range. This creates a patterned yet restrained floor that can delineate zones or highlight pathways without requiring a separate patterned product.
Does the plank format suit both traditional and contemporary interiors?
Yes. The 25x100 cm plank reinforces the horizontal linearity of a concrete reference while remaining versatile enough for classic or contemporary settings. Laying direction can be varied to alter the perceived scale and movement of the space.
What is solution-dyed nylon and why does it matter for a concrete-look product?
Solution dyeing integrates colour into the nylon fibre during manufacture rather than applying it to the surface. For a neutral concrete-look product, this means the subtle tonal variation is consistent through the depth of the pile and does not change with cleaning or light exposure, maintaining the intended aesthetic for the full 15-year service life.
