RedNet R1
Description
RedNet R1 allows users to interact with their audio system like never before. It offers flexibility to control a range of different monitor output configurations, from mono to 7.1.2 surround sound, including Dolby Atmos® and other immersive audio workflows. Alternatively, fully customized configurations of up to 12 outputs can be set up for tailored speaker setups. RedNet R1 can be used to control output groups from multiple sources and destinations within a Red interface, including Pro Tools | HD, other DAWs, analog inputs and outputs, ADAT and S/PDIF connections, and entire Dante audio ecosystems—simultaneously and interchangeably.
RedNet R1 supports up to eight input sources from 32 available audio channels via analog, digital, DAW, and Dante connections, mixing and routing signals to up to 12 monitor output channels. The top-panel controls include level, reference level preset selection, cut, dim, mute, and various solo modes. An A/B switch allows users to toggle between multiple monitoring presets, while up to four downmix presets enable quick switching for checking downmixes. Custom cue mixes can be sent from any of the 32 available inputs.
RedNet R1 also includes a Dante talkback section, an internal microphone preamp, and a high-powered headphone output, enabling seamless interaction with a Dante system. Up to four talkback destination groups are available when used with a Red interface. (RedNet R1 features an internal microphone, or users can connect their own via the rear-panel XLR. The high-fidelity headphone output is powerful enough to deliver high SPL audio to high-impedance headphones.)
RedNet R1 features two LCD screens for highly accurate level metering of outputs, sources, and headphone outputs, as well as visual indicators for navigating menus. The unit is configured using RedNet Control 2, a software manager designed primarily for quickly setting up simple and complex monitoring and routing configurations. Other RedNet R1 features include a 1/4-inch jack that accepts a footswitch for talkback management, LFE muting, and more. It can be powered via Ethernet to reduce cable complexity (using the PoE standard) or through a DC power supply.
