Bobbin – Type B
Bobbin Type B is a cylindrical rubber-metal anti-vibration mounting from AMC Mecanocaucho. It provides elastic anchorage and vibration isolation using a cylindrical rubber block bonded between two parallel steel end plates, combining a male threaded stud on one end with a female threaded socket on the other for flexible fastening options.
Specifications
- Fastening type: Male threaded mount on one end, female threaded mount on the other
- Thread sizes available: M-5 to M-20
- Diameter range: 12.5 mm to 150 mm
- Compression load capacity: 8 daN to 1,800 daN depending on model
- Shear load capacity: 1.5 daN to 140 daN depending on model
- Material: Natural rubber block with steel end plates
Applications
Suited to elastic suspension and vibration isolation of small motor-pumps, motor-ventilators, dryers, sieves, compactors, washing machines, electrical motors, on-board control panels, measuring instruments, control cabinets, microphones, and fluorescent tube fixtures. The mixed-thread configuration allows mounting between a threaded rod on one side and a tapped hole on the other, simplifying installation where access from only one end is practical.
Frequently asked questions
What makes Type B different from Type A and Type C bobbins?
Type B uses a male thread on one end and a female thread on the other, combining the fixing options of Type A (male-male) and Type C (female-female) in a single unit. This makes it suitable for installations requiring a different fastening method at each end.
What load range does Bobbin Type B cover?
Compression capacity spans 8 daN to 1,800 daN across the range, with the specific model selected to suit the static and dynamic load of the equipment being isolated.
Is rubber or steel the primary structural element?
Both materials contribute. The rubber block provides the elastic vibration-isolating action, while the steel end plates distribute load into the rubber and carry the threaded fasteners.
