BSB
The BSB is a rubber-metal anti-vibration mount made by AMC Mecanocaucho that works rubber in shear and compression to provide a balanced ratio of stiffness and horizontal stability. It is designed for mobile rotating machines where controlling axial and radial movement under shock loads is the primary requirement, and is available in eight sizes covering loads from 70 kg to 5,000 kg.
Specifications
- Load capacity range: 70 kg (BSB 60, 40 Sh) to 5,000 kg (BSB 220, 70 Sh)
- Available sizes: BSB 60, 80, 95, 110, 125, 150, 180, 220
- Shore hardness options: 40 Sh, 50 Sh, 60 Sh, 70 Sh
- Bolt sizes: M10, M12, M16, M20, M24 depending on model
- Hood material: anticorrosive-treated metal
- Compliance: RoHS
Applications
Suited to mobile rotating machinery that must resist axial and radial shock inputs while also being exposed to oil, diesel, UV radiation, or outdoor conditions. Typical uses include pumps, marine and land auxiliary units, industrial vehicles, compressors, and ventilators. Where vibration isolation is the priority over stability, the BRB captive mount is recommended instead.
Standards and compliance
RoHS compliant. Anticorrosive metal treatment rated for outdoor use.
Frequently asked questions
How does the BSB differ from the BRB captive mount?
The BSB prioritises horizontal stability and movement control. The BRB captive mount is recommended when the degree of vibration isolation is the primary concern rather than stability under shock.
What protection does the BSB provide against environmental exposure?
A metal hood shields the rubber element from ozone, UV rays, diesel, and oils, and the metal parts receive an anticorrosive treatment suitable for outdoor use.
Does the BSB include a fail-safe mechanism?
Yes. An interlocking metal component inside the mount limits vertical movement during shock inputs, providing fail-safe protection for mobile applications.
