Eccentric Bushing
The Eccentric Bushing is a rubber-metal bushing from AMC Mecanocaucho designed for directional vibration control. The offset between the inner and outer cylinder centre points makes the bushing more flexible in the direction of the main load while maintaining stiffness in the perpendicular direction, enabling tuned isolation in two axes.
Specifications
- Available hardnesses: 45 Shore A and 60 Shore A
- Maximum load (45 sh): approximately 300 kg
- Maximum load (60 sh): approximately 460 kg
- Sizes: Mini, Small, Large
- Mini dimensions: inner diameter 16.2 mm, bore offset 6.1 mm, outer diameter 48 mm, inner length 50.5 mm, outer length 64 mm, weight 311 g
- Small dimensions: inner diameter 24 mm, bore offset 10.5 mm, outer diameter 75.3 mm, inner length 50.8 mm, outer length 68 mm, weight 554 g
- Large dimensions: inner diameter 43.7 mm, bore offset 9.5 mm, outer diameter 101.6 mm, inner length 63.4 mm, outer length 72.4 mm, weight 1096 g
Applications
Tilting cab suspension on heavy vehicles and construction equipment, and suspension arm joints where directional load control is required alongside vibration damping. Suited to any pivoting or articulating connection that experiences a dominant load direction.
Frequently asked questions
What makes an eccentric bushing different from a standard cylindrical bushing?
The inner and outer cylinders share different centre points, so the rubber element is thinner on one side and thicker on the other. This asymmetry produces higher flexibility in the direction of the main load and greater stiffness in the cross-load direction.
Which hardness should I select?
The 45 Shore A version is suited to loads up to approximately 300 kg; the 60 Shore A version handles loads up to approximately 460 kg. Select based on the maximum service load in the primary load direction.
What sizes are available?
Three sizes are offered: Mini, Small, and Large. Outer diameters range from 48 mm (Mini) to 101.6 mm (Large), accommodating a range of mounting envelopes.
