Marine Exhaust – SFC
The Marine Exhaust SFC is a rubber-metal suspension mount from AMC Mecanocaucho, designed to hang exhaust ducts in marine applications. Its interlocking metal structure and thermal insulation plate allow it to withstand both the mechanical loads and elevated temperatures typical of shipboard exhaust systems.
Specifications
- Type: suspension mount (hangs exhaust duct from above)
- Elastomer hardness: 60 Shore A (all models)
- Interlocking metal parts: yes, to resist high compression and traction loads
- Thermal insulation plate: yes, to limit heat exposure to rubber element
- Model 709301 (Type A, M12): maximum load 270 kg
- Model 709305 (Type A, M12): maximum load 420 kg
- Model 709311 (Type A, M16): maximum load 800 kg
- Model 709315 (Type B, M24): maximum load 3,400 kg
Applications
Suspension of exhaust ducts and pipes in marine vessels, including commercial shipping, naval craft, and offshore platforms. The thermal plate protects the elastomer from exhaust heat, extending service life in high-temperature installations.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the SFC include a thermal insulation plate?
Exhaust ducts operate at elevated temperatures that would degrade standard rubber. The thermal plate sits between the hot duct surface and the rubber element, reducing heat transfer and protecting the mount's elastomer.
What is the maximum load capacity?
Four models cover loads up to 3,400 kg. The Type B variant with M24 fixings carries the highest load, while the smaller Type A models with M12 fixings cover 270 kg and 420 kg.
Can the SFC handle both compression and traction forces?
Yes. The interlocking metal parts are specifically designed to withstand high loads in both compression and traction directions, which is important in marine environments where vessel motion imposes dynamic forces on suspended ducting.
