PS+SYLOMER® 1 AMC PRELOAD
PS+Sylomer 1 AMC Preload is a preloadable coil spring vibration isolator from AMC Mecanocaucho, combining omega-shaped steel spring mounts with a Sylomer elastomer pad to provide isolation across both low and high frequencies. It is designed for HVAC plant, generator sets, pumps, and ventilators where the isolator must not rise when the equipment is drained or depressurised for maintenance.

Applications
Suited to stationary mechanical plant where two conditions apply: the disturbing frequency is low (generator sets, cooling towers, chillers, air handling units) and the isolator must be height-restricted during maintenance when fluid is removed. The preload feature locks the spring to prevent equipment from rising when water or refrigerant is drained, protecting connected pipework and utility services.

What does the preload feature actually do?
The omega-shaped metal frame allows the spring to be mechanically pre-stressed so the mount does not exceed a fixed height when the equipment load is removed. This prevents HVAC plant or cooling towers from being pushed upward by the springs during fluid drainage, which could damage connected pipework.
Why is a Sylomer pad included alongside the coil spring?
Coil springs provide isolation at low frequencies but can transmit high-frequency vibration through the steel. The Sylomer elastomer pad interrupts this path, attenuating higher-frequency structure-borne noise that would otherwise bypass the spring isolation.
How does the PS+Sylomer 1 range differ from PS+Sylomer 2?
PS+Sylomer 1 covers a lower load bracket, with individual models rated from 50 kg up to 750 kg per mount. PS+Sylomer 2 covers heavier loads, with models extending to approximately 1500 kg per mount.
