ST + Sylomer is a steel spring acoustic ceiling hanger from AMC Mecanocaucho, designed for high-performance building acoustic isolation where low disturbing frequencies (600-1,000 rpm) require a high degree of structure-borne noise attenuation. Its four-component assembly achieves natural frequencies of 3-4 Hz, making it suitable for the most demanding suspended ceiling and speaker-mounting applications.

What does the Sylomer layer add over a spring-only hanger?
The steel coil spring provides isolation at low frequencies, achieving the 3-4 Hz natural frequency. The Sylomer layer bridges mid-to-high frequencies that can travel through the coil spring itself, extending effective isolation across a wider frequency range.
What happens if the hanger is accidentally overloaded?
The moulded rubber section includes an end-stroke buffer that activates if the hanger is overloaded, preventing metal-to-metal contact and providing a failsafe margin within the assembly.
How is the correct model selected?
Five models span 5 kg to 60 kg per hanger. The model is matched to the calculated load per hanger point. Colour-coded springs allow site identification of each model.
