Sylodyn® NB
Sylodyn NB is a closed-cell polyurethane elastomer bearing and isolation material from Getzner Werkstoffe, designed for lightweight vibration isolation applications. It carries the lowest static load rating in the standard Sylodyn range (up to 0.075 N/mm2) and excels at isolating low-frequency vibration in floors, ceilings, walls, and sensitive equipment supports.

Applications
Sylodyn NB suits applications carrying light static loads combined with a need for effective low-frequency vibration isolation. Typical uses include floating floor underlays, acoustic decoupling of walls and ceilings, bearing pads under lightweight machinery and sensitive equipment, and impact noise insulation in residential and commercial construction. Punched and moulded parts are available on request.
Standards and compliance
Flammability classified to class E per EN ISO 11925-2 and EN 13501-1. Compression set tested per EN ISO 1856. Load deflection curves recorded per ISO 844. Material properties are determinable via the Getzner FreqCalc online calculation program (registration required).
Frequently asked questions
What distinguishes Sylodyn NB from higher grades such as NC and ND?
Sylodyn NB has the lowest static load rating in the range (0.075 N/mm2), giving it the softest spring characteristics. Higher grades (NC, ND, NE, NF) carry progressively greater loads and are chosen when the supported structure is heavier.
Is Sylodyn NB water resistant?
Yes. The closed-cell pore structure means the material does not absorb water, making it suitable for wet-area or below-grade installations.
What forms and sizes are available?
Standard supply is as rolls (1.5 m x 5.0 m) or strips in thicknesses of 12.5 mm and 25 mm. Custom punched and moulded parts are available on request.
