TFS
The TFS is a rubber-metal anti-vibration mount from AMC Mecanocaucho, engineered for mobile applications subjected to both compressive and tensile forces. Two symmetric moulded parts deliver comparable stiffness in compression and traction, making the TFS well suited to on-board equipment mounting in ships, rail vehicles, road transport, and vehicle cabins.
Specifications
- Construction: Two symmetric moulded rubber parts; centre tube bonded to one part guides the anchoring bolt
- Pre-compression: Installed pre-compressed on the machine frame; frame thickness determines the degree of pre-compression
- Load capacity (TFS 18): Up to 20 kg; Shore hardness 40 A; frame thickness 8 mm; hole diameter 12 mm
- Load capacity (TFS 22): Up to 35 kg; Shore hardness 60 A; frame thickness 10 mm; hole diameter 16 mm
- Load capacity (TFS 25): Up to 10 kg; Shore hardness 45 A; frame thickness 4 mm; hole diameter 20 mm
- Fail-safe capability: Metal washers enable fail-safe installations
Applications
Intended for mobile applications requiring isolation in both traction and compression, including vehicle cabin mounting, on-board equipment on ships and railway vehicles, and road transport machinery. The TFS range covers lighter-duty applications where both directions of force must be managed simultaneously.
Frequently asked questions
How does the TFS differ from the TF mount?
Both the TF and TFS share the same symmetric two-part moulded construction and pre-compression installation principle. The TFS is sized for lighter load ranges and is specifically described for applications exposed to combined compressive and tensile forces, including marine and railway on-board mounting.
What does fail-safe installation require?
Fail-safe installation is achieved by using metal washers with the TFS mount. The washers prevent separation of connected components if the mount is subjected to extreme or unexpected loading conditions.
What frame thickness is needed for installation?
Frame thickness requirements vary by model: 8 mm for TFS 18, 10 mm for TFS 22, and 4 mm for TFS 25. The actual frame thickness at installation determines the degree of pre-compression applied to the mount.
