L-Acoustics - LC16D
The L-Acoustics LC16D is a 1U network audio converter that bridges MADI, AES/EBU, and Milan-AVB or AES67 audio networks. It handles up to 128 Milan-AVB channels alongside up to 80 MADI and AES/EBU channels, enabling format conversion and network integration in live sound and installed audio systems.

Applications
The LC16D is used wherever MADI or AES/EBU infrastructure must interface with a Milan-AVB or AES67 network, such as connecting legacy consoles or multitrack recorders to L-Acoustics amplified controller networks. Dual PoE power inputs allow flexible deployment without a dedicated power run.
Standards and compliance
Milan-certified. PoE input compliant with IEEE 802.3at-2009. Supports AES67 seamless redundancy at 48 kHz.
Frequently asked questions
Can the LC16D operate on Power over Ethernet alone?
Yes. The LC16D accepts power from either its internal universal SMPS or from dual PoE inputs conforming to IEEE 802.3at, drawing 8 W typically and no more than 12 W.
What is the maximum MADI channel count at 96 kHz?
At 96 kHz the LC16D supports 32 MADI channels in each direction. At 48 kHz the count increases to 64 channels per direction.
How is the LC16D managed?
The unit provides an embedded web interface accessible over its dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, with HTTP API access for integration into larger control systems.
