Applications
The SB18 IIi suits fixed installations in large theatres, concert halls, houses of worship, and sports facilities where permanent high-power subwoofer integration is required. Its terminal block wiring and additional finish options make it suited to installations where appearance and clean cable management matter. Cardioid configuration reduces low-frequency energy behind the array for improved on-stage clarity.
Frequently asked questions
What distinguishes the SB18 IIi from the SB18?
The SB18 IIi is the installation-oriented variant of the SB18. It uses a 4-point terminal block connector rather than speakON for permanent wiring, offers pure white and custom RAL finish options in addition to dark grey-brown, and weighs 48 kg compared to the touring SB18 at 52 kg. Maximum SPL and frequency extension are identical.
Is the SB18 IIi compatible with the LA2Xi amplifier?
Yes. The SB18 IIi is compatible with the LA2Xi operating in bridge mode, as well as the LA4X, LA8, and LA12X. The touring SB18 does not list LA2Xi compatibility.
Does the SB18 IIi support cardioid deployment?
Yes. Cardioid directivity is achieved by arranging multiple SB18 IIi units with specific DSP presets in an L-Acoustics amplified controller, reducing rear radiation and improving bass control in the listening area.
