Thunder-KS1 I
The Thunder-KS1 I is a self-powered subwoofer from K-Array, housing a 12-inch neodymium woofer in a compact polyurea-coated birch plywood cabinet. An onboard Class D amplifier module rated at 4 x 1500 W at 4 ohm, combined with built-in DSP and multiple speaker outputs, makes it the drive unit for K-Array passive loudspeaker systems in live-event and fixed installation contexts.

Applications
Used as the powered hub of a K-Array system, driving passive mid-high speakers and passive subwoofers from its onboard amplifier channels via SpeakON outputs. The integrated DSP, RJ45 networking, and K-Array Connect mobile app enable remote configuration and preset management. Suited to clubs, theatres, auditoriums, houses of worship, live venues, and flexible installed audio systems that require compact amplification and signal routing in one enclosure. The IP53 rating supports light-weather exposure during live events or semi-sheltered installations.
Standards and compliance
IP53 rating: protected against dust ingress and water spray up to 60 degrees from vertical.
Frequently asked questions
How many passive speakers can the Thunder-KS1 I drive?
The unit has two SpeakON NL4 speaker outputs and four amplifier channels rated at 4 x 1500 W at 4 ohm. The number of passive speakers supported depends on their impedance and the system preset configuration.
How is the Thunder-KS1 I configured and controlled?
Configuration is managed through the K-Array Connect mobile app via the onboard RJ45 network port, and via K-Framework3 software. Dedicated presets stored on the DSP module set the crossover, level, and delay for each connected speaker model.
Does the enclosure have a bass-reflex port?
No. The Thunder-KS1 I uses a sealed, non-reflex enclosure, which reduces residual noise and improves weather resistance.
