Frequently asked questions
Why does Axminster carpet resist delamination better than tufted carpet?
In Axminster construction, the pile and backing yarns are interwoven during weaving to form a single unified structure. Because the yarns are interlocked components rather than a separate tufted pile held in place by adhesive, a secondary backing is not required and the face fibres cannot delaminate.
What wool blends are available for Royal Thai Axminster?
The standard blend is 80% wool and 20% nylon. Royal Thai also offers Nylon Silk and Solution Dyed Nylon options to meet different performance and aesthetic requirements.
Is Royal Thai Axminster suitable for acoustic performance?
Wool-rich woven Axminster provides inherent sound absorption from the dense pile construction. The product holds Australian Carpet ECS Level 3 certification, which assesses environmental performance including in-service use.
