Sylodyn® ND
Sylodyn ND is a closed-cell polyurethane elastomer from Getzner Werkstoffe used for vibration isolation and impact noise control in building structures and machinery. Sitting in the mid-range of the standard Sylodyn grades, it carries static loads up to 0.35 N/mm2 and is well suited to floating floors, structural bearings, wall and ceiling decoupling, and machinery pads under moderate compressive loads.

Applications
Sylodyn ND is used for impact noise insulation in floating floor assemblies, acoustic decoupling between floors, walls, and ceilings, bearing pads under moderate-load machinery, vibration isolation of technical equipment, and structural bearings in buildings where heavier loads preclude the softer NB and NC grades. The closed-cell structure prevents water absorption. Punched and moulded parts are available on request.
Standards and compliance
Flammability classified to class E per EN ISO 11925-2 and EN 13501-1. Compression set tested per EN ISO 1856. Load deflection curves recorded per ISO 844. Material properties are determinable via the Getzner FreqCalc online calculation program (registration required).
Frequently asked questions
How does Sylodyn ND compare to NC and NE?
ND carries a higher static load than NC (0.35 N/mm2 versus 0.15 N/mm2) with greater stiffness, making it the appropriate choice for heavier floor or bearing loads. NE carries still higher loads, so ND occupies the middle of the standard range.
What sizes are available?
Standard supply is as rolls (1.5 m wide by 5.0 m long) or strips, in thicknesses of 12.5 mm and 25 mm. Custom punched and moulded parts are available on request.
Is Sylodyn ND water resistant?
Yes. The closed-cell pore structure prevents water absorption, making it suitable for wet-area, bathroom, plant room, and below-grade applications.
