Sylomer® SR 220
Sylomer SR 220 is a mixed-cell polyurethane elastomer from Getzner Werkstoffe for medium-to-high load vibration isolation. Colour-coded red, it sits in the upper-mid section of the standard Sylomer range and is used to isolate plant, machinery, and building structures where bearing pressures approach 0.22 N/mm2.

Applications
SR 220 is suited to floating floor systems, mechanical plant isolation, and rail track bearings where design loads fall around 0.22 N/mm2. Its combination of moderate stiffness and a loss factor of 0.13 makes it appropriate for isolating structure-borne noise from HVAC equipment, compressors, and similar plant in commercial and industrial buildings.
Frequently asked questions
How does SR 220 compare to SR 110?
SR 220 has double the reference specific load (0.22 N/mm2 versus 0.11 N/mm2), a higher static modulus of elasticity (1.47 N/mm2 versus 0.83 N/mm2), and a higher dynamic modulus. It is suited to heavier loads and will produce a higher system natural frequency for the same bearing thickness compared with SR 110.
What thickness options are available?
Standard thicknesses are 12.5 mm and 25 mm, supplied as rolls 1.5 m wide by 5.0 m long or as strips. Punched and moulded parts are available from Getzner on request.
What load peaks can SR 220 tolerate?
The datasheet specifies load peaks of up to 4.0 N/mm2 for occasional, brief loading, well above the sustained dynamic range of 0.35 N/mm2.
