Frequently asked questions
Does ASL provide both acoustic and thermal performance?
Yes. ASL delivers NRC ratings from 0.85 to 1.05 for acoustic absorption and R-values from R1.3 to R3.0 for thermal insulation, with performance varying by the thickness selected.
What is ASL Reclaim and how does it differ from standard ASL?
ASL Reclaim is made from uncontaminated ASL offcuts and end-of-life panels collected through Autex's Takeback Programme and fed back into manufacturing. Each Reclaim panel has a unique colour depending on the recycled materials used in that batch.
Is ASL safe to handle without personal protective equipment?
ASL is made from polyester fibre and is noted as safe to touch, unlike glass wool or mineral fibre alternatives, though standard construction site PPE is still recommended during installation.
