Suited to recording studios, broadcast rooms, music practice facilities, and offices where an Rw 45 rating is required. The dual bottom drop seals and stepped seal configuration provide greater sound isolation than a standard acoustic door. Customisable jambs, facings, and vision panels support a range of fitout finishes.
Standards and compliance
Tested to AS 1191-1985 (Australian Standard for acoustical performance of doors). CSIRO-certified test reports supplied with each door.
Frequently asked questions
How does the Zone45 differ from the Zone40?
The Zone45 is 7 mm thicker (70 mm versus 63 mm), uses a dual bottom drop seal configuration (Kilargo Types 8010 and 8090 rather than a single Type 8011), and is rated Rw 45 rather than Rw 40. Doors above 2400 mm height use five hinges rather than four.
What types of spaces require an Rw 45 acoustic door?
Rw 45 is commonly specified for recording studios, music rooms, broadcast suites, and commercial offices adjacent to high-noise areas, where the Zone40 may not provide sufficient separation.
Can the facing and jamb be specified to match the fit-out?
Yes. Jambs are available in MDF, metal, or hardwood timber, and facings can be veneers, metal, or custom specifications. Edge strips can also be matched to the veneer finish.
