The EP + Sylomer LMR is an acoustic wall tie from AMC Mecanocaucho, designed for the floating suspension of soundproofed walls. Its double-step stiffness behaviour delivers low natural frequency at low loads while preventing excessive deflection at high loads, making it suitable where demanding acoustic isolation of mid and high frequency structural noise is required.

Frequently asked questions
What does the double-step behaviour mean?
The tie uses two densities of Sylomer, giving low stiffness (and therefore low natural frequency) at light loads, and higher stiffness to limit deflection once loads increase. This allows it to achieve good acoustic isolation without the wall becoming unstable under its own weight.
Can EP + Sylomer LMR carry the weight of the wall?
No. These ties are designed for lateral acoustic isolation only. Separate bottom wall mounts must be installed to carry the vertical static load of the acoustic wall.
Is the metal structure safe if the Sylomer element is overloaded?
Yes. The steel frame is a fail-safe design that remains structurally intact under overload, preventing collapse of the wall assembly.
