Sylomer® SR 28
Sylomer SR 28 is a soft mixed-cell polyurethane elastomer from Getzner Werkstoffe for vibration isolation under lightly loaded structures and equipment. Colour-coded blue, it is one of the softer grades in the standard Sylomer range and is selected where bearing pressures are low and a low system natural frequency is required for effective isolation.

Applications
SR 28 is used under lightweight floating floor constructions, light machinery and equipment in residential and commercial buildings, and sensitive areas such as recording studios or laboratories where very low residual vibration is required. The relatively high mechanical loss factor of 0.21 provides good damping performance across a range of excitation frequencies.
Frequently asked questions
What distinguishes SR 28 from SR 18?
SR 28 has a higher reference specific load (0.028 N/mm2 versus 0.018 N/mm2) and a higher static modulus of elasticity (0.19 N/mm2 versus 0.08 N/mm2). It is suitable for slightly heavier loads than SR 18 while still providing a low system natural frequency for lightly loaded installations.
Can SR 28 be cut to custom shapes?
Yes. In addition to standard rolls and strips, Getzner supplies punched and moulded parts on request, allowing custom bearing pads to be produced to suit specific project geometries.
What is the maximum occasional load SR 28 can sustain?
The datasheet specifies load peaks of up to 1.0 N/mm2 for occasional, brief loading, corresponding to approximately 75% deformation.
