Abilene is a faux leather upholstery fabric from Baresque, supplied by Ennis Fabrics. It features a natural-grain leather texture with a soft hand, a PVC-free polyurethane face, and a moisture barrier, making it suitable for commercial upholstery in indoor environments where durability and cleanability are priorities.

Yes. Abilene is PVC-free and includes a moisture barrier, both of which are relevant for healthcare and aged care settings. It is cleanable with warm water and mild detergent. For facilities requiring fire compliance to AS 1530.3, a fire retardant treatment is available on request from Baresque.
How is Abilene cleaned?
Clean with a cloth dampened with clear warm water or a mild solution of liquid detergent and warm water. Isopropyl alcohol can be used for tougher marks. Avoid solvent-based cleaners, lacquer thinners, nail polish remover, and bleach-containing agents. Always test in an inconspicuous area first.
