Buffer, Diabolo – Type D
Buffer, Diabolo Type D is a rubber-metal anti-vibration buffer from AMC Mecanocaucho with a male threaded stud, designed to absorb impact energy and reduce noise when limiting the stroke of moving parts. The diabolo (double-cone) rubber body deforms progressively under load, making it effective as an end-stop for springs, dampers, cranes, and hoists.

- Thread sizes available: M-8, M-10, M-14, M-16
- Diameter (A): 30 mm to 95 mm depending on model
- Body height (B): 23 mm to 70 mm depending on model
- Maximum static load: 40 daN to 400 daN depending on model
- Maximum dynamic load: 900 N to 10,000 N depending on model
- Dynamic deflection: 9 mm to 18 mm depending on model
- Material: Natural rubber compound bonded to steel hardware

Applications
Used as end-stops and stroke limiters for springs and dampers, end-of-stroke buffers for cranes and hoists, and protective supports when setting fragile materials or machinery in packaging. Suitable for any application requiring controlled limitation of a flexible element under repeated impact loads.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a diabolo buffer and a simple buffer?
The diabolo buffer has a double-cone rubber body that contacts the opposing surface progressively as deflection increases. This allows greater energy absorption compared to a flat-faced simple buffer, which responds immediately upon impact.
Is a high-damping rubber option available?
Yes. A high-damping rubber compound is available on request. It reduces rebound movement but results in slightly higher stress transmission to the structure.
What thread configuration does the Type D use?
The Type D designation indicates a male threaded stud. The threaded mount is included with the buffer.
