EP + Sylomer is an acoustic wall tie from AMC Mecanocaucho, distributed in Australia by Getzner Vibration Solutions, designed for the floating suspension of soundproofed walls. Sylomer vibration-isolation material prevents structure-borne sound transmission while a fail-safe steel housing ensures overload protection.

Applications
Used in the floating suspension of soundproofed and acoustically isolated walls, where structure-borne vibration must not pass through the wall tie to the supporting structure. Also suitable for isolating vertical pipes and lightweight ducts. Recommended where fire resistance or impact resistance is a project requirement, such as plant rooms, residential separating walls, and commercial acoustic enclosures.

What does the fail-safe structure do?
The steel fail-safe housing ensures the wall tie remains structurally intact even if the Sylomer element is overloaded or damaged. The wall does not collapse if the isolation element fails, meeting structural safety requirements for occupied buildings.
What is the difference between the s35 and s65 Sylomer grades?
The two Sylomer grades have different stiffness values suited to different load conditions. The s35 grade is softer and suited to lighter wall loads, while the s65 grade is stiffer and handles higher loads. Grade selection depends on the supported wall mass and the required isolation performance.
Can EP + Sylomer ties be used for pipe and duct isolation?
Yes. In addition to floating wall suspension, the tie is suitable for isolating vertical pipes or lightweight ducts where vibration transmission to the building structure must be prevented.
