FAI
FAI is a thermal-acoustic insulation panel from AMC Mecanocaucho composed of an aluminium facing with fibreglass support bonded to M-1 class fire-resistant absorbing polyurethane foam. It functions primarily as a sound isolator and thermal insulator, with good resistance to hydrocarbon damage.

Is FAI an absorber or an isolator?
FAI is primarily a sound isolator. Its aluminium facing and mass make it more effective at blocking transmission between surfaces than at reducing reverberation within a space.
How do the two thicknesses compare?
The 15 mm version achieves Rw 19 dB; the 25 mm achieves Rw 23 dB, adding 4 dB of isolation.
Can FAI be used in environments with hydrocarbon exposure?
Yes. The product has good resistance to hydrocarbon damage, suitable for engine compartments or industrial facilities where fuel or oil contact may occur.
