FAIM
FAIM is a composite thermal-acoustic insulation panel from AMC Mecanocaucho combining an aluminium facing, fibreglass support, M-1 class fire-resistant polyurethane foam, and a 5 kg/m2 heavy viscoelastic mass layer. The added mass sheet increases sound reduction and damps structural vibrations.

Applications
Thermal insulation and enhanced acoustic isolation in fire-rated industrial environments. The viscoelastic mass layer makes FAIM well suited to enclosures and panels where both vibration damping and sound transmission loss are required. Suitable for environments with hydrocarbon exposure. Performs as a damping isolator rather than an absorber.

Frequently asked questions
How does FAIM differ from FAI?
FAIM adds a 5 kg/m2 viscoelastic mass layer, raising the Rw from 19 dB (FAI 15 mm) to 22 dB and from 23 dB (FAI 25 mm) to 25 dB. The mass layer also damps structural vibrations.
Is FAIM suitable for fire-risk environments?
Yes. All layers carry M-1 class fire resistance, suitable for industrial enclosures where both thermal protection and low flammability are specified.
Are self-adhesive versions available?
Yes. FAIM-15 A and FAIM-25 A bond directly to panels and enclosure walls without additional fixings.
