Sylomer® SR 11
Sylomer SR 11 is a yellow, mixed-cell polyurethane elastomer from Getzner Vibration Solutions, the lightest-duty grade in the standard Sylomer range. It combines spring and damping characteristics to reduce vibration and structure-borne noise transmitted through floors, machinery bases, and building structures, and is well suited to lightweight loads requiring very low natural frequencies.
Specifications
- Material: Mixed-cell polyurethane (PU) elastomer
- Colour: Yellow
- Static load range: 0.011 N/mm2 to 1.2 N/mm2 (standard)
- Load peaks: Up to 6.0 N/mm2
- Amplitude dependence: Very low
- Available thicknesses: 12.5 mm and 25 mm
- Standard roll dimensions: 1,500 mm wide x 5,000 mm long
Applications
Sylomer SR 11 is used for vibration isolation under lightweight building services equipment, floating floors on concrete slabs, and similar applications where low static loads and very low natural frequencies are required. It is one of ten standard Sylomer types, covering the widest static load range from 0.011 N/mm2, making it appropriate for the most lightly loaded installations in the range.
Frequently asked questions
What is the lightest load condition Sylomer SR 11 can address?
Sylomer SR 11 has a static load range starting from 0.011 N/mm2, the lowest in the standard Sylomer range. This makes it suitable for very lightly loaded applications such as lightweight equipment pads or resilient floor underlays where higher-density grades would be over-specified.
How does Sylomer SR 11 relate to other Sylomer grades?
SR 11 is the softest and lightest-loaded of the ten standard Sylomer types. Higher numbered grades (SR 18, SR 28, SR 42, and so on up to SR 1200) cover progressively higher static load ranges. Selection is based on calculating the static load per unit area at the bearing location.
Can Sylomer SR 11 be supplied as strips or in cut pieces?
Yes. Standard rolls are 1,500 mm wide by 5,000 mm long in 12.5 mm or 25 mm thickness. Custom strips and cut pieces can be supplied, and the material can be cut on site to size using standard cutting tools.
