NuWrap 5 Acoustic Pipe Lagging is a pipe acoustic insulation product from Thermotec, combining a high-mass acoustic barrier with 25 mm convoluted acoustic foam and a reinforced fire-resistant aluminium foil facing. It reduces noise from waste water pipes and mechanical services in commercial and residential buildings.

Applications
NuWrap 5 is used for lagging waste water pipes, ductwork, mechanical services, and domestic plumbing in new builds and retrofit projects. One wrap around the pipe combined with a 10 mm plasterboard ceiling meets typical noise control requirements without the need for additional fibre batt in the ceiling space.
Standards and compliance
Independently tested to AS/NZS 1530.3 and BS 476 Parts 6 and 7 for fire performance. VOC compliance documentation is available.

No. One wrap of NuWrap 5 combined with a standard 10 mm plasterboard ceiling is sufficient; no additional fibre batt in the ceiling cavity is required.
Is it suitable for retrofit projects?
Yes. Its flexibility allows installation around bends, joints, and complex pipework configurations in both new construction and existing buildings.
