Phonic Impact is an impact-resistant glasswool acoustic ceiling and wall panel from T&R Interior Systems. A tough fibreglass face protects the panel from ball strikes and knocks, while the 40 mm glasswool body delivers strong sound absorption and ceiling attenuation suited to gymnasiums and sports facilities.

Applications
Designed for gymnasiums, sports centres, community halls, and schools where ceiling panels must withstand ball impacts without dislodging or fracturing. The optional Robo-clip restraint system provides additional security in high-activity spaces. Also suited to workshops and multi-purpose halls requiring strong noise absorption.
Standards and compliance
Fire tested to ISO 5660 Parts 1 and 2 (cone calorimeter), achieving Group 1-S classification. Sound absorption tested to AS/ISO 354:2006; alphaW to ISO 11654; CAC to ASTM E1414-11A. Antimicrobial performance tested to ISO 22196:2011. Cleanroom Class 3 per ISO 14644.1:2015. Contains 80% pre-consumer recycled glasswool content. Meets Greenguard Emission Certificate standard for Green Star rated projects. Complies with NZ Building Code clause B2 (durability, 5 years).
Frequently asked questions
Can Phonic Impact withstand direct ball strikes in a gymnasium?
Yes. The fibreglass face is designed to absorb impact from sports balls, and the optional Robo-clip system prevents tiles from dislodging if struck from below.
Is Phonic Impact available in colours other than white?
Yes. Black, Blue, Grey, and Caramel are available on indent orders, subject to minimum order quantities. Custom ink-jet printed designs are also available.
What grid systems does Phonic Impact suit?
It fits all standard suspended ceiling grid systems, including T&R Interior Systems two-way exposed grids.
