Pink Soundbreak Insulation Batts
Pink Soundbreak Insulation Batts are high-density glasswool acoustic insulation batts from Fletcher Insulation, manufactured in Australia from approximately 80% recycled glass. They are designed to reduce airborne sound transfer through walls, ceilings, and floors in residential buildings, while also providing thermal resistance across a range of R-values.

Applications
Used in internal walls between bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets, laundry areas, and home theatre rooms where higher acoustic separation is needed than standard thermal batts provide. Suitable for installation in ceiling spaces to limit external noise entry and in floor cavities below first-floor children's bedrooms or playrooms. Fits standard timber and steel wall stud spacings. Best installed during construction before internal lining is fixed; not suitable for retrofit once plasterboard is in place.
Standards and compliance
Holds CodeMark Certificate of Conformity CM 30006. Designated FBS-1 Glasswool Bio-Soluble Insulation. Backed by a Consumer Lifetime Warranty.
Frequently asked questions
How does Pink Soundbreak differ from standard Pink Batts wall insulation?
Pink Soundbreak batts are manufactured at a higher density (24 to 26 kg/m3) than standard thermal Pink Batts. This higher density improves sound absorption, making them more effective at reducing airborne noise transfer between rooms, while still delivering comparable thermal R-values.
Which R-value is recommended for home theatre rooms versus general bedrooms?
The prose guidance recommends a minimum of R2.0 between general rooms and R2.7 for theatre rooms. The R3.1 variant provides the greatest thermal and acoustic performance in the range.
Can Pink Soundbreak be used in ceilings as well as walls?
Yes. Installing Pink Soundbreak in ceiling spaces limits the transfer of external noise into a home and can also be used between floors to reduce impact and airborne sound transfer from upper-level spaces such as playrooms.
