Applications
Internal and external wall insulation in residential homes and light commercial buildings with standard 90 mm timber stud framing. Suited to new construction and renovation. The R1.5 rating is appropriate for wall cavity applications where building code compliance is achievable at this level or where budget constraints favour a lower R-value. The friction-fit design holds the batt securely between studs. Batts can be torn to fit without a knife and require no protective clothing or mask during installation.
Standards and compliance
Complies with AS/NZS 4859.1 (materials for the thermal insulation of buildings). ISO 9001 certified manufacturing. Backed by CSR Bradford's 70-year product performance warranty.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between R1.5 and higher R-value Polymax wall batts?
The R-value measures thermal resistance. R1.5 is 75 mm thick, while R2.0 is 90 mm thick. A higher R-value reduces heat transfer more effectively. The appropriate R-value depends on the project's NCC energy requirements and climate zone.
Is Bradford Polymax R1.5 suitable for people with allergies?
Yes. Polymax contains no breathable glass fibres and no chemical binders, making it low allergen and non-irritant to handle.
Are these batts non-combustible?
No. Bradford Polymax is a polyester product and is not non-combustible. It must not be specified where non-combustible insulation is required by the building code.
