Frequently asked questions
How is SONEX AFS different from standard acoustic tiles?
SONEX AFS uses large panels laminated with fibreglass mesh, jointed and finished with PA-85 plaster to create a smooth, seamless monolithic surface. This eliminates visible panel seams while delivering NRC ratings from 0.85 to 1.05 depending on thickness.
What thicknesses are available?
Three standard thicknesses are available: 25 mm (1 in), 38 mm (1-1/2 in), and 51 mm (2 in), with corresponding NRC values of 0.85, 1.00, and 1.05 respectively.
Can SONEX AFS be used on curved surfaces?
Yes. The system is suitable for both flat and curved ceiling and wall applications, making it appropriate for theatres, auditoriums, and other architecturally complex spaces.
