SONEX Linear Absorbers
SONEX Linear Absorbers are straight-line acoustic baffles from Pinta Acoustics, made from open-cell WILLTEC melamine foam. Their streamlined T-shape and custom linear profiles suit architecturally refined interiors where sound control and appearance must both be considered, including offices, museums, hospitality and performance spaces.

Applications
Designed for flat or sloped ceilings and walls, recessed pocket areas within drywall surrounds, and spaces where ceiling elevation changes create opportunities for acoustic treatment. Suitable for lobbies, open-plan offices, museums, entertainment facilities, showrooms, lecture halls and worship centres.
Standards and compliance
Flame spread and smoke density: Class A per ASTM E 84 (all finishes); meets UL 1715 (WILLTEC natural); passes CAN ULCS-102. Microbial growth: passes UL 181 section 11. Fungus resistance: Rating 0 per ASTM G21. Toxicity: passes University of Pittsburgh Toxicity of Smoke Emission test.

Can the depth and length be customised to suit a specific ceiling design?
Yes. Depths range from 6 to 24 in (152 to 610 mm) and lengths up to 96 in (2438 mm) are available. Custom straight linear shapes are also an option, allowing tailored integration with ceiling elevation changes and drywall surrounds.
What is the C-channel system and is it supplied by pinta acoustic?
The C-channel trim is roll-formed painted steel with hemmed edges and flanges of 15/16 x 1-15/16 in (24 x 49 mm), available in lengths up to 10 ft (3.05 m). It is not supplied by pinta acoustic and must be sourced separately; it fastens directly to wall and ceiling substrates.
How is the absorber secured within the channel?
A continuous bead of acouSTIC adhesive is run inside the channel before the baffle is slip-fitted into place. Short beads are also applied to baffle ends before butting baffles tight in continuous rows.
