SRS + SYLOMER
SRS + Sylomer is a steel spring acoustic hanger from AMC Mecanocaucho, designed for the vibration isolation of suspended ceilings and machinery rotating at low frequency. Combining a colour-coded steel spring with Sylomer microcellular polyurethane, it achieves higher isolation values than hangers using rubber or cork alone.
Specifications
- Models: SRS 25, SRS 50, SRS 75, SRS 100, SRS 125, SRS 150 (six spring variants)
- Load range per hanger: 25 kg to 150 kg across models
- Spring colour coding: SRS 25 black, SRS 50 blue, SRS 75 grey, SRS 100 beige, SRS 125 white, SRS 150 black
- Tensile capacity of metal parts: up to 1,000 kg
- Swing angle: 35 degrees to accommodate ceiling irregularities
- Surface treatment: anticorrosive coating on metal parts
- Isolation materials: steel coil spring combined with Sylomer microcellular polyurethane
- Metal-to-metal contact: eliminated by design
Applications
Suited to the isolation of suspended ceilings and low-frequency rotating machinery. The six spring models allow the hanger to be matched to the actual applied load, optimising isolation efficiency. The 35-degree swing tolerance accommodates out-of-plumb rod installations and structural irregularities in ceiling construction.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the SRS + Sylomer outperform rubber or cork hangers?
The low stiffness of the steel spring produces a lower natural frequency than rubber or cork alone, while the Sylomer layer adds high-frequency attenuation that a spring alone cannot provide. The combination addresses a broader frequency range than either material on its own.
How is the correct model selected?
Six spring models cover loads from 25 kg to 150 kg per hanger. The model is matched to the calculated load per hanger point. Each model is colour-coded to prevent site mix-ups during installation.
Is there a risk of complete collapse if the spring fails?
The metal parts are rated to withstand tensile stresses up to 1,000 kg, well above the working load range of any model, providing a structural safety margin within the assembly.
