Thermotec Ezy Tear Reinforced Aluminium Tapes
Thermotec Ezy Tear Reinforced Aluminium Tape is a foil-faced sealing tape for pipe and duct insulation joints in HVAC and refrigeration applications. The aluminium foil face is laminated with a polyethylene mesh backing and bonded with a solvent-free synthetic rubber pressure sensitive adhesive, with a unique easy-release liner that allows the tape to be torn cleanly by hand without scissors.

Applications
Designed for sealing longitudinal and butt joints on aluminium-foil-faced pipe insulation, duct insulation boards, and other HVAC aluminium-jacketed products. The reinforced construction resists tearing along the joint under thermal cycling and mechanical stress. Suitable for indoor HVAC, refrigeration pipework, and any foil-faced insulation requiring a moisture and vapour barrier at joints and seams.
Frequently asked questions
Why is a reinforced tape used rather than plain aluminium foil tape?
The polyethylene mesh laminated into the backing gives the tape greater tensile strength and tear resistance along joints subject to vibration or pipe movement, compared with plain foil tape which can split under stress.
Is the adhesive solvent-based?
No. The synthetic rubber adhesive is solvent-free, making the tape safe for enclosed mechanical services spaces and compatible with sensitive insulation foam surfaces.
What widths are available?
The tape is stocked in 48 mm and 72 mm widths, both in 50 m rolls. Other sizes may be available on request from the supplier.
